Under Construction

Stella
My Savta Stella is from Bulgaria and makes the best darn burecas in the world...though i learned that in Bulgaria it's not called Burecas, it's called Banitza. I'm not sure why she doesn't call it Banitza, neither does she. Last week when i was visiting with her in Haifa, we spent the morning baking. I was some how able to convince her to not work in a little of this and a little of that but with measuring spoons so that I could get the recipe down. And even though she is very camera shy, i even got some good footage.

Nerds
I just caught myself saying, or more accurately Alec caught it, "Oh my god! The things you can make if you know how to knit!"
He thinks that proves definitively that I am a nerd.
I’m afraid I have to agree.
At least now I am a nerd who thinks in color and texture. Though I still love my
HP 12 C.
By the way, today is my Mom's birthday. She's great.

A New Year
and a time for a new beginning. Not sure what the coming year has in store for me but here are a few things I have in store for it:
*Write more.
*Be less irritated
*Spice up my cooking, open the menu up a bit
*Stop doing something I do compulsively. It’s about time.
*Not move away from Amsterdam unless forced by the authorities
*Love Alec, my family and my friends even more.
*Read more and more quickly (please send tips on how to read faster)
*Try meditation
*Practice yoga frequently
*Find pleasure in gaining expertise and not promote myself pre-maturely
*Take risks
*Ask for help
