It's Back

After many months of first being held hostage by buffoons and then quarantined, T41 has been returned to me. Two dear friends reunited at long last.

A is for Tulip

It was a sunny day, there was no one needing me to this or that, so i hopped on my bike and headed to the garden. I cleared all of Square 1 (having divided the garden into 9 squares in my head) of all the debris, and planted nearly 40 tulips (no, it's not too late considering how cold it still is) all the while listening to all the A's on my iPod.

What a lovely life I have.

I bought you ten grapefruits and you bought me this day. Thank you.

200

talia 200.JPG

We celebrated 200 days of marriage.

It's been a wonderful experience. New emotions, new opportunites, doors flung open. Oh a new haricut!

Now if only we could sleep through the night...

AWM

We went yesterday to see one of the worst movies made to date, The Fantastic Four. Normally, I would link the name of the movie to some cool promo or such, but I want to discourage people from going. The movie did bring up one interesting question: If given the choice who would you most want to be:
1. The Thing (a massive heavy as lead man able to stop an 18 wheeler but unable to hold a fork
2. Fireman who can heat himself up to 4000k, or the heat of the sun, 3. Invisible girl, who actually loses her ability to stay invisible once her clothes are off or even slightly startled. Blush. Tee hee.
4. Rubber man, who is bendy to the point of being gross and will behave as rubber does, kind of melty, in the tropical climates I prefer.

What? None of those appeal? Well, me neither.

Alec wants to be Atomic Wedgey Man. I like how the letter fit together, A W M, could make for a snappy symbol across the chest.

George Clooney

I am charmed when you try to sabotage my adoration of George Clooney. Don’t worry baby, except for a house on Como, he’s got nothing on you.

Normal

Suggest I am normal because I put my clown socks on one at a time just like everyone else.

Satan or Satin

Remind me of what a poor speller I am when I boast about having renounced satin this weekend in a Catholic church in Spain. I guess I better start choosing different fabrics for my wedding dress....

A damn fine burger

You know it's a good burger when it requires two hands to eat it and you find yourself licking your fingers even before you've finished.

Laundry

Hanging laundry to dry on a small boat in the midst of winter just doesn't cut it. Today, it occurred to me to not deal with it, to not have to clean up after the dripping pipes. I forgot how delightfully warm and soft sheets out of the dryer feel.

How to charm me

When asked what you are doing about the pending World War III say, "I do yoga"

N8

I am charmed by a city which annually host event whereby all the city's museum are open from 19:00 until 02:00 and all you need is one ticket for less than euro 15.

The Amsterdam Historical Museum remains my favorite.  The Jewish Historical Museum was not depressing like I thought it might be.  I'm especially charmed by a photo depicting a group of motorcycle riders on their bikes in Miami title "Jews and Hogs".  I am especially moved by a series of portraits of Argentinian women who are Mothers of the Missing, each set in a sterile look place, again white tiles, each woman dressed in white like patients in an insane asylum.

Release Me

Virgin_gorda74_dogs

Alec and I are searching for a dog. We agree that while on Virgin Gorda we met quite possibly the world's greatest pair: Humpie and Blanca. (We aren't really sure that her name was actually Blanca). Never barking, not even once, these dogs lit up any room they showed up in. One evening Humpie followed us home. Later that night he mysteriously appeared on our deck. How did he do it?

We decided to take a nap on the balcony and he cuddled up with us. Not too furry, and despite his small stature, you could still pet him in long strokes. That's when we decided the Humpie was the not only the type of dog for us, but the dog for us. A small dog with big dog personality. One with a sweet face, an easy spirit, and a joy to every person he came in contact with. Alec wanted to take him home with us on the plane. I agreed, but later recalled what it said on his tag:

"I Wander"
Love Me
Feed Me
Release Me!

Clearly Humpie's trainer knew not only a lot about dogs but also about people.

Luggage

I am charmed that I don't even have to ask, taking down and putting the suitcases back up just became your chore. This is no small task, I travel a lot. Thanks.

Dentist

It's very gratifying to go to the dentist knowing that I don't floss often enough (by some standards) and still be awarded a clean bill of health.
